Rick Andersen

Originally from Lakewood, NY, Rick earned both his B.A. and M.A. in History and Social Studies from SUNY Fredonia. A former high school history teacher and soccer coach at Westfield Academy, he started his career as a financial advisor at Waddell & Reed in 2006.  Rick is a founding partner of Andersen Cuddihy, Inc, which began serving clients in 2012.

Rick sincerely believes in taking a holistic approach to wealth management and financial planning and therefore spends a considerable amount of time attempting to understand the unique needs of each client well before any recommendations are considered.  He is proud of the deep and long-lasting relationships formed with his clients.  In 2019, Rick earned the ‘Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor’ (CRPC) designation from The College for Financial Planning.  Rick holds Series 7, Series 66 through LPL Financial, and New York State Life Insurance Licenses.  

Rick lives in East Aurora, NY and is married to Tricia.  They are the proud 'owners' of a successful blended family.  Rick's daughter, Kailah, is a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Strong Memorial Hospital and lives with her spouse Jarrett and goofball golden retriever, Tupper in Rochester, NY.   Son Daniel is an active duty US Air Force Technical Sergeant (select) Intelligence Analyst stationed at Misawa AFB, Japan.  Tricia's oldest, Sofia is working on her Master's Degree and lives in Morgantown, WV.  Her daughter Leah is a Junior at The University Of Pittsburgh, and son Nick is a Freshman at SUNY Brockport.

Rick is passionate about physical fitness and backpacking.  He has backpacked thousands of miles in the wilderness and climbed hundreds of mountain peaks across the country.  He is an Adirondack 46er, and has solo thru-hiked both the Northville Placid Trail and the Tahoe Rim Trail.  He is currently working on summiting all 48 high peaks of New Hampshire's White Mountains.  Rick is an avid reader, life-long learner, and enjoys spending time with his kids and traveling with his wife.
